This morning I donated twice: $25 times two — once for vice President Harris, and one for Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio,
They both need each other: she because she needs loyal warriors she can trust, and he because as a strong union man, he needs powerful backup. The opposition (giant corporations) have spent (so far) $32 million dollars trying to remove him.
But there is another reason as well.
For many years I have been fighting to increase state and national funding ( and to increase political protections) for stem cell research. It is always a battle, because Republicans insist on calling a pintip-size fertilized egg the equivalent of a human being. It is not, of course; it is biologically impossible to make a baby without implanting the embryo into the walls of the womb. No implantation, no baby — this is not rocket science.
It took years before we succeeded, and President Obama signed a stem cell protection law onto the books.
But Senator Brown was with us all the way, every year it took, and I am proud to recommend him to you. If you can help him, please do.
