Something huge is about to happen; and you should be part of it. When you step into that polling booth, or mail off your power envelope, you are taking part in an earthquake of positive change.
Right now, half the population — an entire gender — is smaller than the other.
Partly because of this size difference, women have all too often been diminished in the decision-making process, even dominated in ways, subtle or blatant.
But imagine if women were suddenly bigger and stronger? Would they be as likely to be interrupted at board meetings, if they could bench press three hundred? And what about sexual harassment? If a woman could crunch up a man and throw him out the window, would he be as likely to forget the rules of basic decency?
Already, modern jobs use less physical strength. Big muscles are not needed to work a computer, or click a cell phone. The power of the mind dominates.
Did you see the Trump/Harris debate? The former President is 6’3”; vice President Harris is 5’4”. But Kamala prevailed, defeating Trump so completely that he has since refused to ever again step into the ring with her.
Now is the time for major change, at the very top. We have tried before, with the attempted presidency of Hillary Rodham Clinton, coming painfully close — this time we must win.
Each of us has a personal reason to work extra hard these next few days.
For me it is my late wife Gloria, who so ached that Hillary did not win; it’s my daughter Desiree, Athletic Director for the University of Arizona, and my Grand-daughter Katherine, who set a shotput record at Mission High School — we can honor them with effort, a hard-work blessing for the women in our lives.
We can do a lot in seven days. Let’s do it all.
Who will be the last person to ring a doorbell for Kamala?
Who will be the last to walk exhausted from the car, and slump on the couch, ready for snacks and a night of results?
If we get enough “lasts”, all across the country, we may also get a “first” — the first woman President in the history of our land…
Now. What kind of compliment do you want, when the campaign is done?
No, no, I am serious — it matters!
We do not want anybody saying, “Nice try!”, or “good effort!”, or “Maybe next time…”
We want “Good job!”, and “We did it!”. and “There she goes, Kamala Harris, President of the United States.”
Kamala…
Because it’s time.
